Improving what is already the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference’s best-selling map set by far, the newest sixteenth edition of the Harriman-Bear Mountain Trails map set is one of the most significant updates since the 2007 edition. This revised edition includes trail mileage figures. A widely-praised feature of our popular Catskill Trails map set, these mileage figures appear next to the trails on the map front and represent distances between trail junctions and significant trail features; with such a large trail network and nearly unlimited hike possibilities in these parks, these mileage figures can be easily referenced for planning or navigating on the trail.
Made by the people who build the trails, this map set features more than 230 miles of marked trails throughout Harriman and Bear Mountain State Parks and surrounding parklands. More than 20 miles of the Appalachian Trail, along with more than 27 miles of the Long Path, are shown on the maps. Along with the trail mileage figures, this revised edition contains several trail relocations, including portions of the Appalachian Trail on West Mountain, the Major Welch Trail on Bear Mountain, and the Arden-Surebridge Trail on Pine Swamp Mountain. Adjustments have been made to labels throughout the map set to improve readability. Additional corrections and adjustments to the trails and map features make this sixteenth edition the most accurate and comprehensive trail map yet for Harriman and Bear Mountain State Parks.
Additional map features include UTM gridlines, green overprint for public access lands, parking areas, viewpoints, and other points of interest. As always, the maps are printed in vibrant color on waterproof, tear-resistant Tyvek.
At only .95 (.46 for Trail Conference members), this map set is a must-have for enjoying and exploring the rich network of trails in Harriman and Bear Mountain State Parks.
