Unique rural retreat on our sheep farm located in West Rupert just outside of Dorset. Our guest cottage is totally private from our main residence and has no other nearby neighbors. We are surrounded by thousands of acres of undeveloped land. The back patio overlooks a year round pristine brook fed by mountain streams. The view from the hill behind the cottage is breathtaking. And the night sky is spectacular. Great walking, hiking, snowshoeing, biking and birding right out your door. Yet within easy distance of Merck Forest, the Battenkill River for fly fishing, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Race Track, Manchester shopping and dining and world class skiing at Bromley and Stratton. Cottage features kitchen, living/dining room with sofa bed and two loft bedrooms upstairs. Full bath with stall shower. In addition to the furnace there is a woodstove. Cottage Interior

From the moment you drive up the road past the main farm with sheep grazing and turn into the driveway of the cabin you'll know you picked the right place to enjoy the beauty that Vermont has to offer. When you step inside the cabin, you'll be amazed by the incredible cleanliness, and artisan crafted woodwork details. My husband and I stayed six days and would have loved to stay longer. The cabin itself is well appointed and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, glasses, pot, pans, etc. which is a good thing because you'll buy from area farm stands. In addition the cabin is thoughtfully stocked with natural cleaning products which was most appreciated. The living room area is stocked with a great selection of books, and the two Adirondack chairs outside the sliding glass doors will be where you'll spend a lot of your time. It is the perfect place to sit, listen to the water flow through the stream, and gaze out over the small wooden bridge to the field and trees behind. At night the quiet lulls you as you gaze up to see an abundance of sparkling stars. The cabin is ideally located to Merck Forest, Manchester, VT, Salem, NY, Emerald Lake and other idyllic places. In the cabin you'll also have binders filled with information so you can find out about all there is to see and do during your stay. If you're looking to get away to Vermont this cabin is a wonderful place to relax, renew and enjoy.
