But before you book your next ski getaway, make sure you check out the great military discounts you can use for all your skiing needs, including lift tickets at resorts, lodging, clothes and gear.

Discounts On Base

Don’t forget that a great place to start looking for discounts is your local military installation.

Many base ITT offices offer discounted lift tickets for ski resorts. You can rent ski equipment through some military facilities too. For instance, the Tooele Army Depot MWR Outdoor Recreation Equipment Checkout Center in Utah has snowmobiles, downhill skis, snowboards, X-country skis, snow shoes and ice fishing equipment available for rent.

2015-16 Lift Tickets

Alpine Meadows in California offers active duty military free lift tickets Sunday through Friday. Not valid on Saturdays or holidays. Show your military ID at the ticket window.

Bear Mountain Resort in Southern California offers discounted ski lift tickets for military. You have to purchase them in advance at participating MWR/ITT offices because they’re not available at ticket windows. Click here to contact your local ITT office for more details.

Bear Mountain also has Uniform Days on the following dates; January 13-14, 2016; February 10-11, 2016; March 9-10, 2016; April 6-7, 2016. Valid only with work identification at any Bear Mountain ticket window.

Breckenridge Ski Resort in Colorado offers a military discount on lift tickets. For active duty, an adult ticket is $80, a child ticket is $45. Retired military can purchase discounted lift ticket on the military bases in Colorado.

China Peak in California offers active duty, retired military personnel and their dependents) all day lift tickets at half off the regular rates. The discount is valid any day, including holidays.

Diamond Peak, located in northern Lake Tahoe, offers military discounts that include free mid-week/non-holiday lift tickets and $54 weekends/holiday lift tickets for active duty military. Retired military and dependents get $54 lift tickets anytime.

Homewood Mountain Resort, located on the west shore of Lake Tahoe in the state of California, offers active duty military free non-holiday lift tickets and 50% off day tickets on holidays. Spouses and children can also receive 50% off day lift tickets if they come with their service member.

Hunter Mountain Ski Resort in New York offers the Big Lift Card at no cost to current military. This gets you 50% off midweek lift tickets, 25% off weekend lift tickets, and 15% off holiday lift tickets.

Keystone Ski Resort in Colorado offers a military discount on lift tickets. Retired military can purchase discounted lift ticket on the military bases in Colorado. Keystone also offers a discount on the Liberty Pass (unlimited, unrestricted pass for active duty) and Liberty Honor Pass (unlimited pass with limited restrictions for retired military).

At Killington Resort in Vermont all active duty, retired and honorably discharged military members can get a complimentary Killington Express Card. This card gets you 50% off midweek and 25% off weekend/peak day ticket rates.

Mount Snow in southern Vermont active and retired military personnel a free FanFare Card. That saves you 30% off midweek, non-holiday tickets, 20% off weekend, non-holiday tickets and10% off during holidays.

Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort, located in California south of Lake Tahoe, offers active duty military free skiing or riding on Sundays. Show your CAC card at the Ticket Office for your free ticket.

Snow Summit, located in the San Bernardino Mountains in Southern California, offers military discounts, but tickets must be purchased in advance and can only be obtained at participating MWR/ITT offices. Snow Summit also has Uniform Days on the following dates; January 13-14, 2016; February 10-11, 2016; March 9-10, 2016; April 6-7, 2016.

Snowshoe Mountain Resort in Snowshoe, West Virginia offers 40% off the midweek window rate and 20% off the weekend and holiday rate for lift tickets. Snowshoe also offers a Patriot Pass that includes 10% off lodging, retail, dining and the spa.

Vail Ski Resort in Colorado offers a military discount on lift tickets. For active duty, an adult ticket is $80, a child ticket is $45. Retired military can purchase discounted lift ticket on the military bases in Colorado.

Winter Park Resort in Colorado offers discount season passes and lift tickets to active and retired military and their dependents. In addition to the Winter Park season pass office and ticket windows, look for discounts at the following installations: Air Force Academy ITT, Peterson AFB ITT, Buckley AFB, Schriever AFB ODR, Fort Carson and FE Warren AFB ITT.

At Yosemite’s Badger Pass in California, active military personnel and veterans receive a free lift ticket, free equipment rental, and group lessons, and immediate family members also receive 50% off.

Clothing and Equipment

At Sport Chalet, you can find a variety of ski equipment and clothes, including skis, boots, poles, jackets, gloves and suits. And with a valid military ID, you can get 10% off your purchase.
