Overview

The race will finish where it began; under the RED arch in Bear Mountain State Park. Family and friends should plan to reunite with race participants at the Finish Line Festival.

After your run, listen to some great music and load up on food and refreshments. A true family event, the Finish Line Festival offer free samples, product trials, demonstrations and prizes from The North Face, GORE-TEX®, Repreve, Sierra Nevada and more!

Gear Bags

After your run, listen to some great music and load up on food and refreshments. A true family event, the Finish Line Festival offer fAll participants have the option to leave personal belongings and extra gear at the Finish Festival Area while running.

A perforated bag tag is provided at the bottom of your race bib. Please bring your bag, labeled with the provided tag, to the Gear Check booth before the start of the race. Event staff will place it in a secure location for pickup post-race.

Drop bags on-course are ONLY allowed for GORE-TEX® 50 Mile participants at locations specified in the course guides. Meet and Greet with Dean Karnazes

The North Face Global Athlete Team Member, Dean Karnazes, will be answering questions, taking photos and signing autographs from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM at The North Face Retail booth at the Finish Line Festival. Stop by to meet the Ultramarathon Man himself.

Karno Kids Race

For those too young to enter the Endurance Challenge, the Karno Kids’ Race provides a fun, supervised way for kids to join in the action on race day.

Dean Karnazes will lead the way on a 1K course alongside some notable characters, including Elsa, Olaf, SpongeBob SquarePants, Kevin the Minion, Buzz Lightyear, Big Bird and Elmo, to name a few.

Registration is free and parents can sign up race day at the Karno Kids’ booth.

All kids’ race participants receive a medal and free finisher photo from Ultra Race Photos, the Official Race Photographer for the series. Parents must include a legible email address to receive the free photo code.

Screen-printing

On-site screen-printing will be available at no additional charge for participants to customize race shirts with their distance.

Option 1: Skip the line on race day and opt to have your shirt pre-screen printed during pre-race packet pick-up. Pre-printed shirts will be available for pick-up after your race at the Packet Pickup Booth. Don’t forget to pick up your shirt after your race! Unclaimed shirts will NOT be mailed.

Option 2: If you are undecided, you may bring your shirt on race day to be printed at that time. Please note that wet or damp shirts cannot be printed. If you plan to have your shirt printed on race day, do not plan to run in it.

Food and Beverage

All GORE-TEX® 50 Mile, 50K and Marathon participants will receive a free meal ticket on their race bib, redeemable at the Catering booth. Food for spectators, other participants and Sunday participants is available for sale at the Concessions booth.

A Beer Garden will be provided for spectators and participants to enjoy an adult beverage after the race. The first beer is free for all race participants. It is important to note that at certain Endurance Challenge events, beer service and sales may not be permitted or may have certain restrictions due to state laws.

New York State Law prohibits the sale or distribution of alcoholic beverages before 12:00 PM on Sunday. NO BEER WILL BE AVAILABLE ON SUNDAY.

Please bring cash if you plan to purchase additional beer or food.

GORE-TEX® Runner Recovery

In the GORE-TEX® Runner Recovery area, participants can refuel and rejuvenate their muscles with a free massage, ice baths and a smorgasbord of the usual post-run fare like bagels, bananas, oranges, energy bars, electrolyte drink, snacks and more.

Finish Chute

You have been dedicated, trained hard, and passed under the Red arch for the final time; now it’s time to party.

Once you’ve received your finisher medal and Eternal Water Bottle available in the Finish Chute, head into the Finish Line Festival Area to meet family and friends to celebrate than with an ice cold beer, a wide selection of food and one of the best post-race parties in trail running.

We ask that all spectators remain outside the finish chute. The area is reserved for runners only.

Weather

Weather in Bear Mountain this time of year is generally cool, with an average high of 68 degrees and an average low of 53 degrees. Please be prepared and bring the appropriate clothing and accessories.

Overall Awards

The North Face prizes and medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each of the six solo race distances. Overall awards and medals will also be given to the top three finishing Marathon Relay teams.

We encourage other runners and spectators to stay for the awards ceremonies and support the finishing athletes.

If you are unable to attend the awards ceremony, you may pickup your award early at the Awards booth. Unclaimed awards will NOT be mailed.

Age Group Awards

The top male and female in each age division will receive prizes from The North Face. If you place in the top three overall for your race distance, you do not qualify for an age group award. The age divisions are as follows:

  • 19 and under
  • 20-24
  • 25-29
  • 30-34
  • 35-39
  • 40-44
  • 45-49
  • 50-54
  • 55-59
  • 60-64
  • 65 and over
