Bear Mountain Oktoberfest cruise

Discover the hidden getaway of Bear Mountain, just hours from the hustle and bustle of New York City, during this 8-hour round-trip cruise up the Hudson River. Start your day in the morning at Pier 83 in Manhattan, departing by boat as you head north up the Hudson. During the ride you’ll cruise past such iconic landmarks as the high cliffs of the Palisades, Grant’s Tomb, the Cloisters medieval garden and the George Washington Bridge. The trip is even more spectacular in the fall months, when golden and orange-hued trees line the riverbanks. If you’re feeling hungry, grab some German beer or food (your own expense) thanks to the onboard Oktoberfest, which also includes live music on Saturdays.

Soon you’ll arrive at Bear Mountain, situated 45 miles (72 kilometers) outside of the Big Apple, in the Hudson Highlands area. Spend three hours in this beautiful region at your leisure. Among the many options are the Iona Island Estuarine Reserve and Bird Refuge, Trailside Museums and Zoo, Perkins Tower and the carousel and pavilion.

An optional picnic lunch tour option allows you to enjoy a delicious outdoor meal once you arrive at the recreation area, and those who wish can purchase drinks, wine, beer, cocktails, hot dogs, sandwiches and snack foods on board during the ride.
