No more lift lines, no more ticket lines, no more waiting to get up, get down, get in or get out. It's not a completely new concept, the creators simply looked back to when we first started skiing.

Do you remember? A mountain with uncluttered slopes. A mountain where you knew almost everyone. A mountain where they called you by name. A mountain with great terrain for everyone. A mountain where friends were easy to meet. A mountain you wanted to be a part of. A mountain you could call your own.

A Private, First-Class Ski Resort

Just two miles from, also nestled in the Green Mountains of Plymouth between Killington and Okemo, lie 800 acres of pristine forest, crystal-clear streams, and the former Round Top ski area, long known for its 1, 300 vertical feet of challenging terrain and gracious hospitality. Round Top, established in 1964 and closed in 1983, is poised on the verge of greatness once again. In 1996, Round Top and the adjoining Mt. Ambrose were purchased with a vision to protect the peaceful landscape, promote an unhurried lifestyle, and create a secluded, first-class ski resort for those who love mountain recreation and share Vermont's value of elegant simplicity. This is Bear Creek Mountain Club in the historic community of Plymouth.

No Crowds, No Worries.

Bear Creek Mountain Club functions as a private club of no more than 2, 650 members. The mountain operates similar to a country club, with an initiation fee and annual dues. Members are be able to ski or snowboard by paying a daily fee, and construction of a health club and mountain biking facilities are planned.

This winter, Bear Creek is operating with one new chairlift and fifteen trails which are open for limited use by only 450 people per day. However, as many as 40 trails are planned to open within the next five to seven years, whereas the original Round Top ski mountain had only 15 trails. A new clubhouse was recently completed, offering significant advantages over its massive base lodge counterparts at other ski areas.

All in all, Bear Creek Mountain Club promises to become a place where skiers can bring some of the privacy for which Hawk has become famous onto the slopes with them.
